Dr. Alefia Tapia
Principal Investigator
Dr. Alefia Tapia has over 20 years of experience in Internal Medicine and has been serving patients aged 18 and above in Paris, Texas since 2010. She earned her medical degree from the University of Mumbai in 2003 and completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Rochester General Hospital, New York in 2007, where she received the Libby Pulsifer Award for excellence in Primary Care.
She is known for her thorough and empathetic approach, prioritizing patient care and long-term health outcomes. Originally from Mumbai, India, she values the family-friendly environment of Paris and enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her children.
Melanie Albert
Sub Investigator
Melanie has been a practicing BSN-RN since 1993, beginning her career in the Philippines before moving to Texas in 1995. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Pedro College, Davao City, in 1993, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, in 2005. She has since gained experience across Pain Management, Substance Addiction Medicine, Inpatient Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Cardiology, shaping her approach as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She joined Tapia Wellness and Research in December 2025 as a Clinical Trial Sub-Investigator. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, visiting state parks, zoos, arboretums, and beaches, and spending quiet time reading.
